About Roommates Club
Our mission
Sunday dinners, last-minute trips, and a built-in plus-one for every invite. A community for young professionals, creatives, and students looking for the kind of roommates who become real friends. No hidden fees.
Our story
Right now, the options are bleak. You're posting in chaotic groups full of scams and bots. Texting every friend-of-a-friend hoping someone knows someone. Scrolling random listings like it's 2008. Replying to strangers with a single blurry photo and a vibe that says "trust me." Then crossing your fingers and signing a lease.
And the stakes aren't small. Who you live with shapes your mornings, your weekends, your sense of home. Finding people who are actually cool, kind, and compatible isn't a nice-to-have — it's the whole thing. You deserve better than a group chat and a prayer.
We built Roommates Club out of that exact frustration. We were spending weeks digging through sketchy listings and dead-end group chats trying to find someone to live with. There had to be a better way to meet the kind of people you'd actually want to come home to — so we made one.
How it works
- 1
Apply
Start with a short application so we can understand who you are, where you're moving, and what kind of roommate situation actually makes sense for you. Instagram and references are optional, but they help us get a clearer sense of who you are and can make your application stronger. Your public member profile is separate and will be set up only if you're accepted. Review your answers before submitting, because key application details are locked after submission and may help shape your communities and roommate suggestions. If something truly needs to change later, you can contact support.
- 2
We review every application
Every application is reviewed so Roommates Club stays real, respectful, and high trust. We're especially built for people in transition, including students, recent grads, young professionals, creatives, and anyone looking for a more intentional way to find a roommate. The point is simple: fewer random people, fewer scams, fewer flakes, and a better group of people to meet.
- 3
Get accepted
If you're accepted, you'll finish your member profile. This is the part other members see, including your lifestyle, timing, budget, neighborhoods, photos, and what you're actually looking for in a roommate.
- 4
Find your people
Once inside, you'll be placed into private communities based on things like your city, move in timing, life stage, school, and where you're coming from. For example, if you're a student at NYU, you may be placed with other students in New York, people from your school, and members with similar move in plans. You'll also see a smaller and more relevant set of roommate suggestions, so you can send a request, message naturally, and move forward when someone feels like a fit.
