These Terms explain how Roommates Club works, what we do and do not provide, and what you can expect as a member. By using Roommates Club, you agree to them.

By accessing or using Roommates Club—including browsing the website, joining a waitlist, submitting an application, creating a profile, or using any member features—you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use Roommates Club.
Roommates Club is a roommate-finding and roommate-matching platform. We help adults discover and connect with people they may want to live with, using information you choose to share—such as lifestyle fit, timing, budget, preferences, interests, and routines. We are especially focused today on people looking for roommates in London, New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, and Boston. People in other locations may also use Roommates Club where we make it available, and we may adjust our focus, cities, or eligibility over time. Roommates Club is designed to create a more intentional roommate network: applications, profiles, suggestions, communities, and messaging are meant to support real-world introductions—not to replace your own judgment about who you live with.
Roommates Club is not a housing provider, landlord, broker, real estate agent, property manager, leasing service, rental listing marketplace, rent payment processor, escrow service, or background-check company. Roommates Club is not a party to any lease, tenancy, sublease, roommate agreement, payment between users, or any offline housing arrangement. We do not list homes for rent, verify property availability, negotiate rent on your behalf, hold deposits, or manage relationships between you and a landlord or property owner. We help people meet each other. Housing decisions are yours.
Roommates Club is intended only for users who are 18 years of age or older. By using Roommates Club, you confirm that you meet this age requirement and that you have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms where you live.
Roommates Club may use a waitlist, application, or invitation process to keep the network thoughtful and safe. Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance. We may accept, reject, waitlist, suspend, or remove access at our discretion to protect the platform, reduce spam or misuse, and support a better experience for members. We are not required to explain individual decisions.
You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide in your application, profile, messages, and anywhere else on Roommates Club. Depending on the features you use, your profile may include details such as your name, contact information, current city, intended moving-to city, preferred neighborhoods, budget, move-in timing, languages, school or university affiliation, occupation or industry, photos, social links, interests, lifestyle preferences, roommate preferences, and other information that helps describe compatibility. We may add or adjust profile fields over time. You should keep your information up to date and honest.
Roommates Club may provide compatibility-based matches, recommendations, communities, groups, or other discovery tools to help you meet people. These features are suggestions only. They do not guarantee compatibility, safety, friendship, housing, a successful living arrangement, or any particular outcome. You remain responsible for your own choices about who to message, meet, or live with.
You agree not to: - Misrepresent yourself, your identity, or your situation - Harass, threaten, discriminate against, or abuse others - Post false, misleading, illegal, or harmful content - Use Roommates Club for scams, spam, fraud, or unrelated solicitation - Collect other users’ personal data without permission - Use the platform for unlawful housing discrimination or any unlawful purpose - Interfere with the security, stability, or operation of the website or other users’ access We may remove content or suspend accounts when we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect members or the integrity of the platform.
You are responsible for your own housing decisions, lease decisions, roommate agreements, payments, communications, meetings, and due diligence. Roommates Club is not responsible for disputes between users, or between users and landlords, brokers, roommates, or other third parties. Nothing on Roommates Club is legal, financial, or housing advice.
Meeting people online carries everyday risks. We encourage you to move at your own pace, verify important details independently, and be careful before signing a lease, sending money, sharing sensitive information, or meeting in person. Choose public places when you first meet if you decide to meet offline, tell someone you trust when you are meeting a new person, and trust your instincts. Roommates Club cannot control what people do on or off the platform.
You keep ownership of the content you submit (such as text, photos, and profile information). To run Roommates Club, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, adapt for formatting or accessibility, distribute, and otherwise use that content as needed to operate, improve, secure, and promote the service—including for profiles, matching, communities, messaging, customer support, and future features you choose to use. This license ends when you delete content or close your account, except where we may retain copies for a reasonable period for backups, legal compliance, or dispute resolution.
Roommates Club may change, add, pause, or discontinue features, cities, communities, matching systems, eligibility rules, or access requirements over time. We will try to communicate meaningful changes in a sensible way (for example, on the website or by email), especially where updates affect how you use the product.
Roommates Club is currently free for members unless we clearly state otherwise on the website or in a separate notice. If we introduce paid features in the future, we will explain pricing and payment terms before you choose to pay.
Roommates Club does not guarantee that you will receive matches, that matches will be compatible, that you will find housing or a roommate, that other users are who they claim to be, or that any interaction will be safe or successful. Information from other users is user-generated and may be incomplete or inaccurate. Optional verification features may be added in the future; unless we clearly say otherwise, you should not assume that other users have been verified.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Roommates Club and its owners, operators, employees, and contractors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of Roommates Club or interactions with other users. If we are found liable for any claim, our total liability will be limited to the greater of USD $100 or the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim (if any). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability will be limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, misuse the platform, create risk for others, or harm the experience of the community. You may stop using Roommates Club at any time. Provisions that reasonably should survive termination (such as limits on liability, content licensing where needed to wind down the service, and dispute-related terms) will continue to apply where allowed by law.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will adjust the effective date above. If you continue using Roommates Club after updated Terms are posted, that means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you should stop using the service.
